However, after some confusion, the two girls work it out. Meanwhile, at the upcoming cultural festival, so many bands applied to play that there's going be a talent event to pick the best acts. We also see that the lead of another group, who used to be lead for SSGirls, has a serious beef with Mizu, and after seeing that Yori has replaced the brat in question, she decides to make Kino's life miserable. Meanwhile, over in the cooking club, it turns out the club leader, Momoka, is in the rival band! Then her band mates show up unexpectedly, and it's all Momo can do to keep her band mates from realizing that sweet little Yori is Kino's girlfriend! She also has to keep Yori in the dark about the rival band. Oh the tangled webs we weave! The former member of SSGirls is determined to ruin things for Mizu, even going so far after the talent contest to confronting Mizu about her secret crush on Yori! Yikes! I think the brat actually has a crush on Mizu, but can't ormore likely, won't admit it. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 30, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Robert FisherTop Contributor: Anime -- Yori and Himari have their first date : I was a bit worried about this volume of Whisper Me a Love Song as it started giving greater attention to the characters beyond Yori and Himari. Another yuri series, Failed Princesses, did this in its fourth volume and somehow, that derailed the series for me. Fortunately, Whisper Me a Love Song simply got deeper. Yori and Himari stand out as they find themselves totally awkward over the question of how they should conduct themselves now that they are a couple. There are also misunderstandings on their first real date. As noted, we get more in depth with other cast members as well as Shiho, the girl who Yori replaced in the band. She now has a band of her own, including Himari's fellow club member Momoka, which certainly makes things interesting. Whisper Me a Love Song proves an interesting balance between two other yuri series I like. It is more dramatic than the light-hearted Our Teachers Are Dating! but not quite as intense as How Do We Relationship?. I'd call that a nice sweet spot. They fit so well, it makes you want to know more about their backgrounds. Also, I still want Aki to find her happiness and Shiho is totally jealous or crazy can't tell yet. Ha!
